Why are ceramic coatings so expensive?

  1. Ceramic Coating Preparation.  To be able to apply a ceramic coating, we first have to completely strip and prepare the paint.  This is a time consuming process that ensures the best results. This includes washing, bug and tar removal,  iron decon, and clay bar treatment.  It must be extremely clean so that the ceramic coating can adhere to the paint perfectly to give it the maximum protection for your vehicle.

  2. Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating.  If your paint is full of swirls and light scratching, you may choose to have that corrected or enhanced before you seal it with the ceramic coating.  This is another highly detailed process of compounding and polishing to level out your clearcoat and remove scratches and swirls. This combined with the paint prep takes up the majority of time in the whole process.  Measuring your paint thickness so as to not burn through the clear coat and gauge how much is removed.  Using specific lighting to confirm swirl and scratch removal.  Choosing the right level of correction and polishing product to get the results you want.  This can be a 1 to 3 day process based on the level of correction.  All of this followed up with the ceramic coating application.  (2-3 hours)

  3. Ceramic Coatings far outlast and protect better than any wax.  Ceramic coatings can last from 2 to 10 years.  Some have warranties that come from the manufacturer, giving you peace of mind if they ever fail before they should.  They even can be included in your Carfax report!  This is a plus in your car's possible resale value.

Things to keep in mind and helpful reminders.

  1. Ceramic coatings have a curing time.  Initial cure is around 4 hours before the car can be driven.  Another 72 hours of no contact with water.  We highly suggest waiting at least  a week of cure time before you wash your vehicle.  This gives your ceramic coating the best chance to cure and give you the protection you deserve for many years to come.

  2. Ceramic Coatings, while extremely hard and durable and that make cleaning your car a breeze, are not an invincible barrier to whatever you can throw at it.  This means no automatic car washes that physically touch your car, but touchless are ok.  Ceramic coatings are durable and resist scratching and swirls but careless washes can shorten the life and protection of the ceramic product.  This is true of any car paint, ceramic coating or not.

  3.  We are here to answer any questions and to guide you on the use and care of any ceramic coating or paint correction you choose. We want you to not worry but to just enjoy your protected ride.  We also want you to have the best experience with a detailer you have ever had!

  4. Scrub it.  Drive it.  Love it.
